I don't think they can stop them from selling it, but they cal nullify it's usefulness with updates and ban those who use it.

Sigh..
I don't blame players for buying gold on e-bay. It's terribly easy and all you need is some extra (real) cash, and you skate ahead of most people in the game. I believe it's borderline cheating, yes, but commercial businesses are allowed to continue it and that is what needs to be stopped. I thought this was resolved after Everquest/Diablo 2 and you couldn't sell items/gold for profit or something. In my opinion no commercial site should allow any sales of virtual items in games, period. This is just sad.

Honestly most of the guild wars "farming bots" and macro guides sold on E Bay are just programs downloaded from other sites and some stuff copy and pasted from forums. More often than not it's infested with trojans or key loggers.

Be careful about those programs, like GW warned...they might contain keyloggers that steal your password. Whether that is true or not I do not know, but very possible.

Mainly people who ebay wanna experince the game without having to go through the whole storyline. Being able to buy max weapons, to buy every expensive item out there. There only reason for doing so is not being able to play the game long enough to enjoy it, than just getting the good stuff and playing the game.

I know two people that lost their accounts to trojans and keyloggers that they downloaded. One downloaded it in a program that was supposed to help them with a PvP build, the other downloaded it from a program that was supposed to help with farming. One bought it off of ebay, the other downloaded it for 'free'.
They contacted GW about it and were told 'well its not our fault you downloaded programs that allowed you to get hacked'. I'm with GW on this, if you download stuff that you know helps you to 'bend' the game and rules a bit to make it easier, don't be suprised if those people running/selling the stuff arn't -gasp- honest! Gosh I'm so suprised a cheater would try to cheat me.

you know. looking at the feed back information on all those instant buyers I am wondering why Anet is not using those e-mail addresses as reference for perminate bans??? Especially those sellers with well over 1000 coments... I mean their e-mail is right there...Now admitidtly they may not use that on their account name or anyhing, but it may be worth it to entrap a few 100 of these little piss ants just to get their accounts banned out of the system.
And the gwfreaks program is not a program that runs with GW its a stand alone program that is used to test builds and make party builds for posting to forums. If the one on GWGuru is corupted with a virus we need to get that changed asap. or download it directly from a good source namely http://www.gwfreaks.com/

Theres just 1 slight problem. If as you say theres people there with well over 1000 comments. If we're talking about selling 300k, i think that was 10quid/dollars whatever. They probably keep the gold on a different account and transfer it over when they need to.
Banning that account is gonna do what? Make them spend a little bit more on a new copy and carry on as as if nowt happened?
Of course it could stop people, but theres always a chance it'll get the wrong person.

Ya seriously. I'd like to know as well. I've heard plenty about a GWFreaks teambuilder that contained keyloggers. And there is a download to one right on this site. So what's the deal? Is this site distributing a keylogger?

Crap like this really pisses me off. Bots can totally destroy a game. ANet, ffs, check if this is legit or a scam, and either way: take action.

How're they gonna do that? They'd have to buy it, which they're not gonna do.

GWFreaks is clean, but I would be sure you download it from their official site, and not any third-party sites (I believe the link on GURU points directly to their official site). I know plenty of people who use it, including quite a few people on this site.
It is, AFAIK, the only commonly "approved" clean GW tool available. Anything else is subject to concern.

Can we give it a rest yet? The score isn't going to improve much by starting 50+ threads on it. And search may not work but a simple scrolling through the first 2 pages should yield plenty of places to post.

My friend sold a single unique axe on eBay for $200. Not to mention his Neopets account for another $120. and Neopets is easily botted with autobuyers/resellers. 3,000,00 nps in 2 days, sell your neopets cash for about $200 on eBay, and your makeing money!

Bah I'd be hard pressed to pay $200 for a real war axe let alone a virtual one.
